Massive set of Movie Padmavati

The making of Padmavati took a lot of efforts, diligence, expertise, and finesse, which got reciprocated in the form of the massive film set depicting right era and plot. Sanjay Leela Bhansali who is master creating regal grandeur with his expensive and massively built movie sets has given Bollywood movies like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Devdas, Sawariya, Black, Guzarish, Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani. And now he is all ready to recreate the same magic with yet another tale of love from the history in his style. Hundreds of artists were involved to make the iconic movie sets with minutest of the details for the movie Padmavati.

Body transformation of actors

The first look of the film Padmavati itself created abuzz in Bollywood that showcased body transformation of all the actors playing the lead roles. Deepika Padukone is seen donning a unibrow that made her character look more strong and elegant. Ranvir Singh also transformed his body to match and live up to the requirement of looking like a lion-hearted and fearless Moghul. He is said to have undergone a special diet including red meat throughout the shooting of Padmavati. Ranvir believed that red meat will infuse in him the aggressive and undaunted traits. However, Shahid Kapoor also gave his every bit to look like a muscular and heroic emperor of Chittor. This was the first time that Shahid Kapoor was paired opposite Deepika Padukone and the audiences seem to have to love the on-screen couple.

Heavy dresses and traditional jewellery

The heavy dressed and the jewellery donned by the actors in the movie Padmavati are something to die for. The recently released song Ghoomar from Padmavati is very popular as it is considered one of Deepika’s most difficult dances with 30 kgs lehenga, fire dance and perfectly choreographed traditional Ghoomar. Her jewelleries in Padmavati are also worth mentioning that took 200 artist-craftsmen, 400 kg of gold and 600 days to make by Tanishq, India’s one of the leading jewellery makers. Some have also compared the Rani Padmavati look with Jodha Akbar’s, Jodha Bai played by actress Aishwarya Rai due to similarities in regal dresses and jewelleries.

The official trailer of the movie Padmavati shows the great special effects and VFX used to showcase the war-like situation with lakh of men on foot, horses, elephant, and chariots attacking the fort of Chittor. Though we have seen similar special effects in Bajirao Mastani that gave the entire project a 3D effect. Sanjay Leela Bhansali has taken technical support for special effects and VFX from experts who have worked in many other Hollywood as well as Bollywood movies.

Ghoomar dance & melodious music

Sanjay Leela Bhansali makes sure that in each of his movies there is a folk traditional dance that can add the real Indianess to the movie. Remember, ‘Dholi Taro’ in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and ‘Dhol Baje’ in Ram Leela, ‘Pinga’ in Bajirao Mastani and now ‘Ghoomar’ in Padmavati. Also, the music score of the movie Padmavati is by Sanjay Leela Bhansali himself and we have heard his music creating magic in the song ‘Mohe Rang Do Lal’.
