Patiala | 23-year-old BDS Student Ends Life by Hanging Self

The death toll in Patiala is increasing day-by-day and depression is found as the key reason behind the maximum of suicide cases of youngsters. Stress has again taken the life a young girl Patiala as she hangs herself to death.

Lately, a 23-year-old girl took her life in Patiala by hanging herself from the ceiling fan in her room. The deceased was a student of Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and was undergoing an internship at the Government Dental Medical College in Patiala. The girl has been identified as Amanpreet Kaur who hails from district Moga in Punjab.

How did she commit suicide

The girl was staying alone in a rented accommodation in the Rose Avenue Colony, Patiala. In the morning, when the girl didn’t come out of her room, the house owner went to ask her whereabout. It was when the girl did not open the door in spite of the persistent knocking, they broke into her room and found her hanging from the ceiling fan. The house owner then informed the police and to the girl’s parents about the incident.

The suicide case is now registered under the Section 174 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC). The police have started the investigation in the suicide case and are interrogating girl’s parents and the fiance. The body of the girl has been handed over to the family while the final autopsy reports are yet to be declared by the hospital.

About the girl who committed suicide

As per the statement, given by the family of the deceased, Kaur was to marry soon and was engaged to a BDS student, pursuing post graduation from the Government Dental Medical College, Patiala. They also mentioned that due to depression, their daughter took this major step of ending her life.

Committing suicide is the cowardly act that the youngsters these days think as the ultimate solution to their problems in life. No problem stays for forever, it fades away with time. We must learn to handle different transitions of life.
