PRTC has started a direct bus service from Patiala bus stand to Indra Gandi International Airport, New Delhi (Gurgaon) with effect from December, 2015. A new luxury bus has been specially purchased for passengers on this route. PRTC has bought a 45 seater Scania bus owned by Volkswagen.
Although there are buses connecting New Delhi and Patiala but people had demanded of a direct bus to the airport. The demand was pending with PRTC since a long time. Acting on the demand and making it easier for people to reach New Delhi airport from Patiala, PRTC started this service.
Patiala to New Delhi Airport Bus Timings:
The new luxury bus will run everyday as per following schedule:
Departure time from Patiala Bus Stand = 4:00 PM (Evening).
Arrival at Terminal 3 of IGI Airport, New Delhi = Around 9:00 PM. (Night).
Total Travel Time from Patiala to Delhi Airport = 5 hours (Approx.)
Fare (Ticket Rate) = Rs. 600.
The timings of this new luxury bus have been kept in the evening hours since most of international flights take off during the night hours. Residents of Patiala will be able to reach T3 of Delhi airport by the time of their flight.
The response was said to be good on the first day of the launch as some people travelled on this bus to New Delhi airport on its maiden journey. Looking at the good response on Patiala – New Delhi Airport bus, PRTC might introduce more buses for this route in near future.
