The University Grants Commission (UGC) recruitment is now subject to new regulations which will soon be implemented from the year 2021. UGC is all set to undergo certain kinds of new rules and regulations which will be applicable for all those who are aiming to attempt the UGC NET Exam which is for the posts of the assistant professors in different colleges and universities.

In order to improve the kind of the quality of the education which will be offered in the higher educational degrees, the UGC will be undergoing the regulations which are related to the mandatory possession of the PhD Degree for the interested students from the year beginning from 2021.

It has been circulated by the Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar that from now on, a PhD degree is mandatory for all the ones who are opting for the procedure of the direct recruitment to work at the post of the assistant professors in various colleges and universities.

Whereas, for the UGC Recruitment procedure, a degree in the master’s field along with the National Eligibility Test (NET) or a PhD degree is still considered as the least in order to serve as the minimum criteria for eligibility when it comes to the direct University Grants Commission recruitment for the posts of the assistant professors at the colleges. As the UGC new regulations were announced, it was announced that the Academic Performance Indicators (API) is now earlier a compulsion has now been scrapped as the main focus is to teach the students with proper quality as desired.

The whole agenda behind the establishment of the new University Grants Commission (UGC) Regulations from the session of 2021-2022 is to improve and thus empower quality education which is been taught in the higher class curriculum. Also, the aim is to attract and attain the talent which is the best amongst the rest within the country so that the main concentration lies on providing a better quality of the course and education to the undergraduate students.

The Indian students should note that all the ones who receive their PhD degree from the top 500 universities abroad shall be clearing the eligibility criteria for appointment in the universities as per the UGC regulations.
