Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has announced the 10th result for the year 2017. Only 57.50% students cleared the Punjab board 10th exam in 2017. PSEB declared the results on Tuesday and in 2017 results of the 10th board in Punjab, girls outshines than boys.
The wait for all the Punjab board 10th candidates, who appeared for 2017 exam was too long but the results have been finally out and can be checked on the official site of Punjab School Education Board i.e http://www.pseb.ac.in/. And in the year 2017 was for girls who appeared for the 10th Board in Punjab, as girls passing percentage is much higher than the boys.
PSEB 10th Passing Percentage 2017
A total of 3.30 lakh students appeared for the 10th board exams in the state from Punjab Board in 2017. Out of which only 1.90 lakh students cleared the 2017 Punjab board 10th exams. Whereas 45,734 failed and 94,271 students got to re-appear in the PSEB 10th exam 2017.
- Pass percentage of Boys: 53.35% (appeared- 183979 and passed- 96315)
- Pass percentage of Girls: 63.97% (appeared- 146458 and passed- 93686)
- Pass percentage of Urban students: 57.93% (appeared- 111780 and passed- 64753)
- Pass percentage of Rural students: 57.28% (appeared- 218657 and passed- 125248)
- District with maximum no. of degree holder: Ludhiana with the students 113
- No. of candidates scored above 80%: 37963
A resident of Rup Nagar, Shruti Vohra student of DAV Public senior secondary school topped the 2017 10th board exams in Punjab with 98.77%. And the second and third place have been held by a boy and a girl from Sai Public Senior secondary school, Ludhiana with 98.62 and 98.31% respectively.
Highlights of Punjab Board 10th Result 2017
In previous 2 years, the passing percentage for PSEB 10th Board result was 48.22% and 53.78%. But in 2017, the passing percentage of Punjab Board 10th exam has improved to some extent. Out of 37,963 students who secured more than 80%, 25430 were girls. Although the subject wise passing percentage is like- Punjabi (93.35%), English (78.68%), Science (78.83%) and Maths (71.82%).
