PSEB Class 10 Punjab Board Result 2018 | More Than 89,000 Students Fail In English Exam

PSEB Class 10 Punjab Board Result 2018: The PSEB Class 10 Board Result 2018 has recently been declared by the authorities. Many students who had appeared for the PSEB Class 10 Board Exam 2018 have passed with flying
colours but certain stats related to the same have created a lot of buzz. As per the reports, more than 89,000 students out of the total number of students who had appeared for the PSEB Class 10 Board Result 2018 have failed in the English subject.

The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) which declared the Class 10 Board Result 2018 revealed that more than 89,000 students did not manage to pass the English Subject out of the total students who appeared for the Board Examination held in the month of March.

89,000 Fail in English PSEB Class 10 Board Exam 2018

As per the figures, as many as 3,68,295 students had appeared in the PSEB Class 10 Board Exam 2018 out of which a number of 89,000 students have failed to pass the English Subject. In comparison, the pass percentage of the students in the English subject was comparatively high.

Last year, the pass percentage of the students for the English subject stood to 78.68% and dropped to 73.71% in 2018. Apart from the fact that so many students have failed in English, there are other subjects as well in which students have failed to gain the minimum passing marks.

The English subject has been recorded with the lowest pass percentage which is followed by Social Studies as well as Mathematics out of the compulsory 6 subjects for the PSEB Class 10 Board Exams 2018. A relevant decrease in the mother tongue like Punjabi and Hindi language has also been recorded.

Social Science Teachers Teach English in Schools?

There is a lack of the teachers who are specialised in teaching English and therefore, Punjab has a policy of employing the Social Science teachers in order to teach students English subject which is also sometimes against the wish of the teachers.

This has resulted in a bad performance of the students in both the subjects. This year, as many as 63,000 students have failed in the Social Studies subject which is the second highest number followed by the 89,000 students failing in the PSEB Class 10 English Board Exam 2018 in Punjab.
