The much hyped and high voltage political drama is witnessing its climax today with Congress leading ahead of its rival parties SAD and AAP in the Punjab state election 2017.
As per the prediction of exit polls, Congress or AAP was supposedly in the big picture to sweep away the maximum winning seats in Punjab leaving behind SAD- BJP.

Today’s morning began with the counting of votes for the 117 seats in Punjab assembly elections 2017. The 54 counting centres in 27 locations in Punjab have been set up by the Election Commission (EC). The police and the security arrangements are vigilant at all locations for trouble free counting of votes while the usage of mobile phones is restricted inside the counting halls.

As per the latest updates Congress is leading with 66 seats and has won from one constituency followed by the AAP with 23 seats and SAD- BJP with 20 seats.
Congress’s Gurjit Singh Aujla is making a surge by 21,881 votes in Amritsar Lok Sabha constituency. Leaving behind BJP’s Rajesh Kumar Honey with 3,370 votes, Congress’s Navjot Singh Sidhu has swept away Amritsar (East) seats with 12,300 votes.
However, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal is ahead of Captain Amarinder Singh of Congress in the Lambi assembly constituency. Also, the Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal is making a lead in Jalalabad to its closest rival Ravneet Singh Bittu of Congress by 2144 votes.
Amarinder Singh also fighting from its hometown Patiala is ahead of others.
