Here’s what Chandigarh got from the Rail Budget 2016-17

Residents of Chandigarh had high expectations from Rail Budget 2016-17. A number of demands were made and even our city MP Kirron Kher had written to the Railway Minister in regard to what Chandigarh citizens want prior to the compilation of the budget. A large number of people had gathered around the LED screens at Chandigarh railway station to watch the live telecast of Rail Budget 2016. It was a sight similar to what used to be during India-Pakistan cricket matches. People were excited to know what the new budget has for them.

The announcement of no fare hike was the major relief for everyone and people liked the new amenities which have been introduced. Overall, the rail budget 2016 did not have anything big for Chandigarh but had few good things for the common man.
