Here comes shocking news for Ranveer Singh’s fans, the actor is all set to play the role of Kapil Dev in his next Bollywood movie. Till now, Ranveer Singh was in news for his upcoming Bollywood movie Padmavati but now he has been in news for his next Project. And now reports are there that Ranveer Singh has signed his next Bollywood movie with Kabir Khan, where he will be playing the role of Kapil Dev.
Earlier it was reported that Arjun Kapoor has been roped for the same, but now it has been confirmed that Ranveer Singh will be the onscreen Kapil Dev for Kabir Khan’s untitled sport-based Bollywood movie. At present, Ranveer Singh has been busy with his upcoming Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s movie Padmavati.
After Padmavati, Ranveer Singh to recreate Kapil Dev’s 1983 World Cup memories
After the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati, Ranveer Singh will all be set to take up the role of a cricketer. To be as onscreen Kapil Dev, Ranveer Singh will surely tonne his body accordingly as an Indian Cricketer. Although the untitled Bollywood movie is said to be the biopic of Kapil Dev. It will also showcase the scenario of 1983 World Cup, which has been lifted by India Cricket team under the captainship of Kapil Dev.
If reports are to be believed then Ranveer Singh’s next Bollywood project will be directed by Kabir Khan. Whereas the biopic of Kapil Dev will be written by Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan (National Award-winning director). And the same will be co-produced by founder & MD of CCL (Celebrity Cricket League), Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Phantom Films.
Will Ranveer Singh be able to match up the previous Sports-based movies?
Many biopics of cricketers have been made in Bollywood and audience have seen actors playing the role of a cricketer on the silver screen. From M.S.Dhoni to Azhar, Sushant Singh Rajput to Emraan Hashmi has respectively characterized the player’s life onscreen. But to play the role of Kapil Dev onscreen will be a tough job for Ranveer Singh as he has been the legend of cricket. Along with this, only Kapil Dev made it possible for India to win the cricket World Cup in the year 1983.
