Reliance Jio Beats Airtel, Vodafone & Idea in Terms of 4G Speed | Check More Details

TRAI has recently revealed in its report that Reliance Jio has recorded the highest 4G speed by the end of October which made Reliance Jio the fastest mobile data provider in India. While Jio recorded the highest download speed, Idea cellular recorded the highest upload speed of 7.1 Mbps in October. Download speed is required to access or download the files, images or videos on the web while upload speed is required to share the images, video and multimedia files over the internet.

Reliance Jio Records Highest 4G Download Speed

Reliance Jio beats Vodafone by double the 4G download speed as Jio recorded 21.8 Mbps of download speed while Vodafone delivered a maximum of 9.9 Mbps download speed. Bharti Airtel recorded 9.3 Mbps while Idea Cellular delivered 8.1 Mbps of maximum 4G download speed. Reliance Jio’s speed has declined a bit as it recorded its highest 21.9 Mbps in September, however, its 4G speed is still the highest as compared to its competitors.

Idea Cellular Records Highest Upload Speed

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India uses its My Speed Application to calculate the speed of data services on a real-time basis. Idea cellular recorded the highest upload speed of 7.1 Mbps followed by Vodafone with 6.2 Mbps upload speed. Reliance Jio recorded an upload speed of 4.9 Mbps and Airtel offered the lowest upload speed of 3.9 Mbps.

TRAI also recorded the daily average download speed of all the telecom companies during peak hours. The average download speed of Reliance Jio has remained from 19.6 to 25.2 Mbps during night time. Vodafone recorded an average download speed of  6.8 to 9.3 Mbps followed by Idea that recorded an average speed of 8.6 to 9.8 Mbps in the second half of the day. Bharti Airtel recorded the lowest average download speed of 4.9 to 8.7 Mbps during night hours.

Reliance Jio – R.Com Deal

Reliance Jio is ready to buy the spectrum and all the wireless network infrastructure of Reliance Communications in an attempt to pull out RCom from the loan defaults. The Reliance-Jio and R.Com deal will put both the companies in an advantageous position but this will subsequently lead to increase in tariffs. Reliance Communications has signed an agreement with Reliance Jio for the sale of its wireless network and 4G services that include 43000 towers and MCNs.
