Renault India will soon be launching its premium SUV Captur in India. The company has confirmed that the new four wheeler Renault Captur will be launched in India this year. Renault India expressed that the SUV/Crossover market in India is on the rise. Banking on this inclination towards SUVs in the country, the new SUV Captur will materialize Renault’s expansion plan in India.
Specifications of Renault Captur
The Renault Captur will be a premium offering from the French manufacturer. The premium SUV will sit above the Duster in the automaker’s India line-up. It is believed that the Renault Captur is underpinned by the same M0 platform.
The Captur is expected to carry the same powertrain that is being offered in the Renault Duster. The Renault Captur is expected to be offered with the same 1.5-litre K9K diesel motor and the 1.5-litre petrol engine. As of now, there has been no official statement on whether or not the Renault Captur will have an automatic version but as per reports, the Captur will not offer an automatic nor a 4×4 version initially at the launch, but there are possibilities that Renault India may introduce the versions at a later stage.

The company believes more and more new car buyers in India are looking for numerous options in the SUV, Crossovers or compact SUV segment. It was reported that the company is focusing on the emerging segments and the launch of the Renault Captur will be important for the company.
Renault’s new SUV – Captur will come loaded with attractive features. On the front, the Capture will get full-LED headlamps flanked by LED daytime running lights. The interiors too have been made classy and elegant. The Renault crossover will feature a dual-tone theme and will also get a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. This touchscreen will support media navigation as well as Bluetooth connectivity. Adding a special option for the exteriors of the Renault Capture, various customisation options will be offered in India such as a contrast roof.
Price and launch date of Renault Captur and Competition
According to a report, Renault India has officially announced that it will be launching its new vehicle before the year ends. Renault India has not confirmed the exact dates of the launch but it will soon reveal the date in the coming months. With aggressive plans for the Renault Captur launch in India the coming months. The crossover is expected to take on the Hyundai Creta and the Jeep Compass.
Renault India is all set to launch the SUV Captur in India before the end of 2017. The company has high expectations from the premium SUV with a strong crossover DNA – Renault Captur. Though there has been no official statement, neither the launch date nor the price, but the Renault Captur is expected to be launched at a price tag between Rs 14 to 15 Lakh in India.
