Renault Captur SUV Unveiled In India | Check Out Launch Date And Price

Renault has unveiled its SUV Renault Captur in India. According to reports, Renault has unveiled its much-anticipated SUV the Renault Captur in India making its way to festive season. Renault’s crossover – Renault Captur is already on sale in 75 countries but the SUV has made its way to the Indian market for the first time.

The Renault Captur SUV unveiled in India, Launch expected

It has not been officially revealed but the report mentions that sale of the Renault Captur SUV will commence from October 2017, immediately after the launch of the Renault Captur.

Renault’s new SUV Renault Captur will help French automaker to establish itself in the Rs 10-20 lakh SUV segment. Post the launch, the Renault Captur will compete against the likes of the Hyundai Creta and the newly launched Jeep Compass SUV.

 

The automaker has used its global design language to design the Renault Crossover – the Renault Captur. As the Renault Captur is positioned as a premium offering, there will be no base variant of the Renault Captur for the Indian market. The Renault Captur has the base variants for the Brazilian as well as Russian markets.

Features of the Renault Captur 

The Renault Captur measures 1619 mm in height, 1813 mm in width and 4329 mm in length. There are numerous visible differences in Renault’s crossover – Renault Captur in comparison to its own Renault Duster. The Renault Captur is slightly longer, narrower and shorter in height as compared to the Renault Duster.

Renault Captur’s un-laden ground clearance is 210 mm. Renault Captur gets a stylish crossover appearance. With dual-tone alloy wheels and the all-LED taillights and headlamps, it looks quite upmarket as well. The Renault family grille upfront, adds to its appearance.

The Renault Captur gets an all-new interior that is striking and appealing. The cabin of the Renault Captur is finished in a dual-tone black and white shade. The centre console of the Renault Captur also gets a large touchscreen infotainment system which is surrounded by gloss black inserts.

The top-end trims of the Renault crossover – Renault Captur will also get white and gold inserts in the cabin. It has been reported that after the launch Renault India will offer personalisation options with the Renault Captur.

Under the hood of Renault Captur

The only feature similar to the Renault Duster is that the Renault Captur gets the same engine that powers the Renault Duster. The Renault Captur, that has been unveiled in India will come with 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that will churn out 108 bhp at 4000 rpm and peak torque of 240 Nm at 1750 rpm.

On the other hand, the petrol variant of the Renault Captur will get 1.5-litre petrol engines that powers the petrol Duster. The petrol unit produces 104 bhp at 5600 rpm and 142 Nm of peak torque at 4000 rpm.

Both, the petrol as well as the diesel engines of the Renault Captur will come paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox. There are speculations that Renault might offer option for an automatic variant.
