Roger Federer Becomes the Oldest Men’s Champion | Even Bollywood Celebrates the Title

After the historic Wimbledon 2017 win Roger Federer has become the first man to win the title for the eighth time and has successfully extended his record to 19 Grand Slam titles. The Swiss third seed, Roger Federer won the title in a three setter match 6-3, 6-1, 6-4. 35-year old Roger Federer finished the contest in 101 minutes (One hour and 41 minutes) to claim his first Wimbledon title after approximate 5 years.

Roger Federer defeated Andy Murray to win his 7th Wimbledon Title in 2012. With the Wimbledon 2017 title Roger Federer has established himself as the oldest men’s champion in the Open era. He accomplished this fete without dropping a set in the draw which also makes Roger Federer the first man since Bjorn Borg in 1976 to win the Wimbledon title without dropping a set.
