The annual event of Municipal Corporation in Chandigarh ‘Rose Festival’ is all set to hit the city beautiful soon. The work is in full swing in Chandigarh to make the ‘Rose Festival 2017’ a grand one for the people of the city. For 2017 Rose fest in the city, MC has put up an expenditure of Rs. 49 Lakhs.

Most awaited and crowded annual fest of Chandigarh, ‘Rose festival’ will be a grand one this year as the MC has come up with new ideas to make it a memorable for Chandigarhians. A total of 830 varieties of roses spread over 40 acres of the area of Rose Garden, Chandigarh is expected to attract a huge crowd. Here’s a breakage of how the money is being spent.
- Rs. 8.50 will be spent on tentage, that has to be put up in the Rose Fest.
- Around Rs. 7.50 Lakh will be spent on lights and sound system.
- Rs. 1.30 Lakh will be incurred on security guards.
- Approx Rs. 3.80 Lakh will be the expense of gifts for the children.
- Rs. 1.50 will be spent on the participants of folk dance.
Along with the mentioned expenses, MC will also put CCTV cameras worth Rs. 1.80 Lakh, while Rs. 1.60 Lakh will be incurred for the awards to the winners of competitions. Apart from all these, rest of the amount will be spent on the honeymoon trip for the winners of the newly wed competition, chopper ride and much more.
Rose Festival in Chandigarh
Like every year, some competitions have also been planned for ‘Rose Festival 2017’ where people of the city can participate and win exciting prizes. The 2017 year’s rose festival awaits your participation in various competitions like on-spot painting, folk dance, rose quiz, photography, rangoli, kite flying and lot more. Food lovers will also get some lip- smacking dishes as MC will put up 13 stalls of food.
