Royal Enfield (Bullet) Electric Model SPIED | Here’s What Might Change in the Royal Enfield EV

An electric powertrain Royal Enfield Bullet has been recently SPIED in the company showroom. If reports are to be believed, the battery-powered Royal Enfield Bullet was spotted at Royal Enfield’s showroom in Thailand. Though the company has not officially announced the launch of the electric Royal Enfield yet the motorcycle manufacturer has mentioned in one of the statements that it may come with an electric Bullet soon.

Electric Variant of the Royal Enfield Bullet SPIED

The spied pictures reveal an electric motor and a battery stack in place of the four-stroke petrol engine of the Bullet. As per the report, the electric Royal Enfield Bullet does not seem to be manufactured by the company. It appears that the job to fit in the electric components and battery for power has been done by someone technician as a part of the modifications. The modification has been done as an aftermarket modification job.

The electric components have been combined with an automatic gearbox that powers the motor to drive the rear wheel of the electric Royal Enfield Bullet through a belt drive.

Royal Enfield may introduce an electric variant in the near future 

Though Royal Enfield has not built this bike officially but the motorcycle manufacturer is exploring prospects so that there are possibilities to involve electric motorcycles. According to the report, the company spokesperson has stated that the company is considering options to manufacture electric motorcycles but currently it is not feasible to hit the mass market anytime soon. The manufacturer also stated that they are no less than 5-10 years away from producing an electric product aimed at the mass market.

Electric vehicle’s segment is expanding 

According to a recent government of India notification, it wants all the vehicles in the country that are playing on different roads to be powered by electricity to reduce the increasing pollution. In the four-wheeler segment, several major car manufacturers have already started investing to produce electric cars.

On the other hand, in the two-wheeler segment, scooter manufacturer TVS Motors is already working on an electric version of its two-wheeler Jupiter. As per the report, the electric variant TVS  Jupiter is slated to be launched next year. Two-wheeler major Hero MotoCorp is also preparing to launch a range of electric two-wheelers soon.
