Royal Enfield has unveiled the much anticipated Interceptor GT 650 and Continental GT 650 in India. The two bikes were launched in India for the bike enthusiasts at the annual rider mania. Both the Royal Enfield Interceptor GT 650 and Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 are powered by an all-new 650cc engine. The air-cooled parallel twin engines gets oil cooler for enhanced performance.

After unveiling the two powerful bikes – the Royal Enfield Interceptor GT 650 and Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 at the EICMA motorcycle show in Italy’s Milan, the automaker has launched the much-awaited motors in India for the bike enthusiasts. ,
Powered by the all-new 650 cc engine the new motor churns out 47PS of power and 52Nm of peak torque at 7,100rpm and 4,000rpm respectively. Both the motorcycles were initially unveiled at the annual motorcycle show in Italy’s Milan earlier this month. The all-new engines that power the Interceptor GT 650 and Continental GT 650 retain the Royal Enfield character of accessible torque. The character is retained through the rev range offering a low and mid-range performance. The engine of the Interceptor GT 650 comes mated to an all-new six-speed gearbox that has been specially developed for the new bike.

The gearbox of the new bike by Royal Enfield has been further improved by its ‘slip/assist’ clutch. The new feature assists in easy riding in heavy traffic. The ‘slip/assist’ clutch also prevents wheel-hop when downshifting gears and this feature is a first for the company.
The chassis of the 650cc bike has been developed at Royal Enfield’s UK Technology Centre in addition to Harris Performance from the ground up. The chassis has been further engineered and modified for improved agility to handle different speeds and terrains with ease while maintaining the period classic style.
Specifications of the new Royal Enfield 650 cc bikes
The motorcycle comes equipped with twin shock absorbers. It also gets classic 18″ front and rear tyres that come with front and rear disc brakes with ABS (Anti-Lock breaking System). The Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 is a cafe-racer and appears more or less like the existing Continental GT 535. Though the new Continental GT 650 retains the same fuel tank, headlamp and several other elements yet the rear side has undergone few visible changes. It gets new dual side exhaust muffler that adds to the appearance of the 650cc machine.
Though the price of the two bikes – Interceptor GT 650 and Continental GT 650, has not been officially announced yet as per the report, it has been hinted by the company spokesperson that the two bikes will be priced somewhere between Rs 3 lakh and 3.5 lakh.
