Royal Enfield Interceptor GT 650 and Continental GT 650

Both the new 650cc bikes were unveiled for the first time at the EICMA motorcycle show in Italy’s Milan. The Royal Enfield Interceptor GT 650 and the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 are being projected as the most powerful offering from the bike manufacturer. Since its unveiling, it has become the much-awaited two-wheeler in India for the bike enthusiasts.

Specifications of the all-new 650 cc engine

Powered by an all-new 650 cc engine the new engine is reported to churn out 47PS of power at 7,100 rpm and 52Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. The motorcycles were unveiled last year in Italy’s Milan at the annual motorcycle show and since then it has hogged the headlines for its robust appeal.

Both the bikes are powered by brand new 650cc engines but it retains the Royal Enfield character of accessible torque. Retention of the character has been made possible through the rev range offering, which is a low and mid-range performance. According to the report, Interceptor GT 650 will come mated to an all-new gearbox. It has also been reported that the six-speed gearbox has been specially developed for the new 650cc bike.

The bike will come equipped with 18’ front and rear tyres and twin shock absorbers. The front and rear disc brakes will come fitted with ABS (Anti-Lock breaking System).

Numero Uno feature in the new Royal Enfield

The brand new 650cc bike has been further enhanced by its ‘slip/assist’ clutch. This new feature will offer assistance to the driver especially to make riding easy in heavy traffic. The ‘slip/assist’ clutch also prevents wheel-hop when downshifting gears and this feature is a first for the company.
