RRB Recruitment 2018 Group C | 36 Lakh Candidates Appear While 11 Lakh Absent in 1st Stage CBT Exam

RRB Recruitment 2018: The Railway Recruitment Control Board has completed the Ist Stage CBT exam for the RRB Group C posts. The Ministry of Railways has confirmed the completion of the Ist Stage CBT exam on its Twitter account. In a tweet, the Ministry of the Railways announced that the overall attendance in the RRB Group C CBT Exam is 76.76 per cent and this is a record for the Railway Recruitment Board Exam.

RRB Recruitment 2018 For Group C Posts Over

Finally, the first stage CBT (Computer Based Test) for the RRB group C posts, ALP (Assistant Loco Pilot & Technician) is successfully conducted by the Railway Recruitment Board. The last exam for the Group D posts was conducted on 4th September.

The Railway Recruitment Control Board (RRB) started the Ist stage CBT exam for the Group C posts on August 9th. Other shifts/phases for the RRB Group C exam were held on 10, 13, 14, 17, 20, 21, 29, 30 and 31 August. As per the official schedule of the Railway Recruitment Board Exam, the last phase of the examination was scheduled to held on 31st August. But later on, the exam dates for the Kerala candidates was postponed to September 4th.

RRB Recruitment 2018 Group C Posts – 47 Lakh Appeared and 11 Lakh Absent

According to the official tweet of the Ministry of Railways, the Railway Recruitment Control Board has completed the Ist Stage CBT exam successfully for more than 47 lakhs candidates competing for 64,037 ALP and Technician posts. The Railways has also recorded attendance of 76.46% and this is a record in itself. In the last ALP and technician exam of Railway, about 36 lakhs candidates appeared and the attendance was 47.47%.

Going by the figures of candidates appeared in the Railway Recruitment Board Exam for Group D posts, more than 36 lakh candidates have taken part in the Ist stage CBT exam while 11 lakh candidates skipped the exam for Group C posts.  The main reason behind the skipping of the examination was the examination centres as some of the candidates have received exam centres for the RRB Group C exam too far from their locations.

The Railway Recruitment Control Board released the official notification for the Group C posts and RRB Group D posts in the month of March. At that time according to official notification for Group C posts, there were total 26502 vacancies (17673 for ALP and 8829 for Technician). After the scrutiny process, RRB found that nearly 48 lakh candidates applied for the total posts. Now the RRB Group C Exam Ist Stage CBT is over and the Railway Recruitment Board exam will now conduct the Ist Stage CBT for the RRB Group D Posts from this month.
