Several Dera Followers Say “They Were Called Here, Wanted To Go Back, Forced To Stay” | This is Shocking

According to a Hindi daily, it has been revealed by the CID report that more than 50,000 followers of Dera Sacha Sauda who had thronged the city from numerous places in Punjab had come here to be a part of Dera chief’s film shooting, as conveyed to them.

Innocent followers allege foul play

The verdict in the 15-year old rape case against godman Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was scheduled for August 25 and people from different parts of Punjab, Haryana and its neighboring states started descending in Panchkula three days prior to the judgment in the sexual assault case by the CBI court. Followers of the Dera Sacha Sauda sect have also disclosed that they never intended to harm anyone and their sole aim was to see their guru once and to offer their sewa for the betterment of the human kind in a way or the other. They just wanted to offer their selfless services in the name of humanity and give back to the society.

How were followers fooled by the Dera office bearers?

Quoting the names of some of the office bearers of Dera Sacha Sauda, the Hindi daily has reported that followers have alleged that they were forced to stay in Panchkula by the office bearers of Dera Sacha Sauda. It was also reported that most of the followers, including the elderly, women with kids and few others wanted to leave the place peacefully but they were provoked to attack by numerous Guru’s aides and the anti social elements who took the shape of the mob after the verdict.

These followers preferred to run away rather hurting someone. Some of the dera Sacha Sauda followers have also revealed that they were called to Panchkula by the dera authorities, which completely contradicts dera chief’s statement in his video released a day prior to the judgment that he did not ask anyone to reach Panchkula and those who have come here must return back to their homes. Also, through this video Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh appealed his followers to maintain peace.

What do these innocent followers say?

The followers have alleged that they wanted to go back home but they were not allowed to go back and were forced to stay here. These followers told that they were informed that the dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh will initiate a ‘Swachhta Abhiyan’ and that they have to part of this Abhiyan and will also organize discourse for the sangat. As per the well pre-planned schedule, the followers were given Rs 1000 each – Rs 500 as fare and Rs 500 for food and other necessities.
