Shahid Kapoor who is currently shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati has just unveiled his first look from the movie. Shahid Kapoor will be playing Maharawal Ratan Singh, the King of Chittor and Rani Padmini’s husband in the much-awaited period drama. The image makes him look royal as well as fierce. Shahid Kapoor gets accessories like men earrings and a long red tikka along with the beard. The scar makes the warrior look just about perfect. Even Shahid Kapoor told the media that he had to gain a lot of muscle weight for the film to get the look right.
The Rajput warriors and kings of that era were strongly built and had some muscle fat. He wanted his character to bring out that essence from the era.He has established himself as one of the best actors in the country with films like Haider, Mausam, and jab we met. It is Shahid Kapoor’s first collaboration with Bhansali. After this much effort, there are many complications that are arising with the release of this epic movie Padmavati as Karni Sena is troubling the release.

Trouble with Karni Sena with the release of Padmavati
The film has already been in limelight due to the trouble it went through during the shoot. Apparently, the members of the Rajput Karni Sena in Jaipur vandalized the sets of the film Padmavati starred by Shahid Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, and Deepika Padukone because they believed the facts have been tampered with. They also believe that this movie may hurt the image of Rani Padmavati. Yesterday, there were reports of the film’s posters being burnt.
Release date of Padmavati postponed
The movie is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and stars Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, and Shahid Kapoor in lead roles. The music of the film is given by Sanjay Leela Bhansali himself. After so many challenges and issues raised against by Karni Sena, the film Padmavati is slated to be released on 1st December 2017.
