Skoda Kodiaq – New SUV by Skoda | Check Top Features, Price & Launch Date In India

After a lot of teasing and speculations, the Skoda Kodiaq has been confirmed to come to India in the last quarter of 2017. This is the second SUV that Skoda brings to the country after the infamous Yeti. The yeti could not bring in huge numbers for the company but had a huge fan base for its drivability. The premium Czech automaker now plans to make things right with the Skoda Kodiaq which will be its most premium offering in the country. The SUV will be positioned above the Superb in the company’s portfolio.

This will be the second car to be launched by the company within four weeks after the Skoda Octavia RS.

Skoda Kodiaq Features:

As Skoda is ready to launch its new SUV Kodiaq to launch in India we try to find out if it makes a strong case for itself.

The Skoda Kodiaq is a seven-seater offering from the company. It is not very tall, especially when compared to the Fortuner and the Endeavour. It looks more like the last generation Audi Q7 and that translates to its premium feel. It sits on 18 inch wheels which look appealing.

The car has two-tone interiors in typical Skoda fashion and the cabin looks premium with soft-touch plastics. The car is very spacious and has a very roomy feel. Getting into the third row is quite a task as the second-row seats don’t tumble all the way. The third row is roomy but under thigh support is inadequate. There is a panoramic sunroof which enhances the feel of the cabin of the Skoda Kodiaq.

Skoda Kodiaq Competitors in India:

The Skoda Kodiaq’s actual competitor is the sister company’s Volkwagon Tiguan. But keeping in mind the positioning of the car and the price it is said to come at it might hurt the Fortuner and Endeavour sales as well.

Price and launch date of Skoda Kodiaq in India:

The Skoda Kodiaq as the company says will be launched in the last quarter of 2017 and the experts believe the exact date might be somewhere around the festive season. The company has stated to position the SUV above the Superb and that translates a starting price of 32-35 lakh.
