The Skoda Octavia RS is all set to be launched in India. As per reports, the company has officially announced that the RS will soon be available in the Indian market. The latest offering by Skoda the all new Octavia RS is believed to be launched before the Rapid Monte Carlo launch. The Skoda Octavia RS will get a sporty body kit and it is this sporty kit which is going to differentiate the new Skoda Octavia RS from the standard model of the Skoda Octavia in the first place. After much speculations Skoda has authenticated that the new RS model of Skoda Octavia will make its debut by the last week of August.
Skoda Octavia RS will be built here
According to reports, the Skoda Octavia RS is going to be built in India. The manufacturing of the Skoda Octavia RS will be done as a SKD vehicle (Semi- knocked down). The term SKD means that pricing of the vehicle will be competitive. The Skoda Octavia RS will be built in the same facility where the Skoda Octavia is currently built. This company facility is situated in Aurangabad.
Not a limited number
It has been seen that most of the companies limit their sporty offerings. Recently, the VW launched their sporty GTI and this car was limited to only 99 units. Skoda on the other hand will not be offering the Skoda Octavia RS as a limited vehicle. The company plans to sell the new Skoda Octavia RS along with the normal Octavia that is currently on sale. This means that the Skoda Octavia will be offered in 1.4 and 1.8 TSI variants along with the 2.0 TDI and the latest RS option.
Engine of Skoda Octavia RS
There has been no official announcement on the engine that will be offered on the Skoda Octavia RS, but according to reports, the Skoda Octavia RS will have the 2.0 liter TSI engine that pumps 230 HP of maximum power which will be offered in the Indian market. Furthermore, there are rumors that the Skoda Octavia RS will come paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox, though there are reports that suggest that the Skoda Octavia RS will come paired to a 6-speed DSG automatic gearbox. As of now, there are no reports of the Diesel variant of the car being launched but reports suggest that there are possibilities that the Skoda Octavia RS may have a diesel unit as well but it will be revealed during the launch only.
The posh interiors
A 9.2-inch infotainment system is expected inside the cabin of the new Skoda Octavia RS. This with infotainment system will also have Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink connectivity options. To make the interiors swanky sporty black leather seats with contrast red stitching have been added to the Octavia RS. The ambient lighting system inside the cabin gives it a rich appearance. To add to the safety of the car, nine airbags have been included in the car. Another safety features of the new Skoda Octavia RS include the ESP (Electronic Stability Program) as well as the park-assist which includes rear parking sensors and auto-parking system.
The impressive exteriors
The new Skoda Octavia RS has been loaded with a body kit that gives the car an an aggressive design language. The chrome surround front grille makes the front really impressive whereas an all-new design 17-inch alloy wheels clubbed with red brake calipers adds to the sporty feature of the car. It was reported that the new Skoda Octavia RS will come equipped with LED headlamps, LED tail lamps and fog lamps besides the gripping DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps). Steel exhaust tips and a tailgate spoiler will further enhance the rich and the sporty appearance of the new Skoda Octavia RS.
Bookings started
It has been reported that Skoda Auto has already started the booking process for the new Skoda Octavia RS. The model has been listed on the official website (India) and authorised sellers have started accepting booking for the new Octavia RS.
Expected price of the Skoda Octavia RS
It is believed that the price of the new Skoda Octavia RS will be higher than the existing Skoda Octavia and according to reports the price of the new Octavia RS is expected to be somewhere around 30 lakh. Though there are rumors that Skoda might surpirse the customers by launching the car with some attractive price tag.
