Skoda has launched its most powerful sedan model, the Skoda Octavia RS in India. The Skoda Octavia RS, at present, is the most powerful sedan in India manufactured by automaker Skoda. The company has claimed that the Skoda Octavia RS is first-of-its-kind performance sedan from Skoda in India and is the most powerful Skoda car in the country till date.
Features in the newly launched Skoda Octavia RS
The Skoda Octavia RS shares a lot of similarities with the existing standard Octavia sedan. The Skoda Octavia RS may be similar to the standard Skoda Octavia but it carries with it a strong flavour of performance.
Up front, the newly launched Skoda Octavia RS comes with a black radiator grille. The vRS badging and chrome surround gives the Skoda Octavia RS an appealing look. Carried over from the standard model the quad-LED headlamp fanks the grille. Besides this, the Skoda Octavia RS that has been recently launched in the Indian market also gets a new bumper.
For increased air flow, the new bumper houses a massive three-piece air intake. The bumper also houses horizontal LED fog lamps on either end. The 19-inch alloy wheels coupled with performance-oriented tyres will certainly add to the appearance of the newly launched Skoda Octavia RS .
Power and control of the most powerful Skoda in India
The Skoda Octavia RS gets power from Skoda’s reliable 2.0 TSI turbocharged petrol engine that has been tried and tested over the years. Though, globally, this powerful 2.0 TSI turbocharged petrol engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, but in India it will only come mated to a 6-speed DSG automatic transmission.
What makes the Skoda Octavia RS the most powerful sedan from Skoda in India is the 2-litre motor that pumps 230 bhp and develops a peak torque of 350 Nm. This is way more power than the standard car. The standard Skoda Octavia produces 177 bhp in the petrol engine and 138 bhp on the diesel engine.
The amalgamation of power and torque tuning helps the powerful Skoda Octavia RS reach 0-100 kmph in 6.8 just seconds. The Skoda Octavia RS can easily reach a top speed of 250 kmph which is electronically limited.
The new Skoda Octavia RS comes with a revised suspension setup. The most powerful sedan from Skoda gers a wider track at the rear. The dynamic chassis control (DCC) comes as a standard fitment in the Skoda Octavia RS. The DCC gives the Skoda Octavia RS the agility it needs.
Luxury and Entertainment
The Skoda Octavia RS comes with similar sporty character inside the cabin as well. The Skoda Octavia RS features a multi-functional flat-bottom steering wheel with paddle shifters. The black coloured leather/fabric combination seats with a stitching contrast adds to the luxury quotient of the Skoda Octavia RS.
In terms of entertainment and stylish features, the Skoda Octavia RS gets ambient lighting inside the cabin. It has been equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system that support Apple CarPlay, MirrorLink, Android Auto, driver assist and other such systems.

Recently, Skoda launched the Rapid Monte Carlo Edition and now with the Skoda Octavia RS, the company is carving a niche by targeting a whole new audience. Next car to be launched by Skoda is the Kodiaq SUV. According to reports, the Skoda Kodiaq SUV is slated to be launched by the end of this year.
