Skoda Rapid has been updated and now comes with better security features to take on the competition. The company has added two side curtain airbags to the top end trim which takes the total number of airbags in the car to 4. The Czech manufacturer is known for its reliable car with tough build quality and this step ensures that their cars are the safest ones among the competition. Skoda Rapid 2018 remains unchanged except for the two additional airbags of course.
Skoda Rapid Finally Taking The Competition Seriously
Skoda Rapid has been facing tough competition in the Indian car market from the likes of Honda City and the Hyundai Verna. Honda City was one of the segments bestsellers right from the time when there was no other car to compete with. However, with the success of Ciaz, Maruti Suzuki has been able to make a real dent in the sales of the city that too with a lower price tag of up to 1.5 Lakhs.
Hyundai Verna too is going steady in the segment and offers the best set of features of the lot. Skoda Rapid comes at a premium especially if you consider the overall package and appeals to the more upmarket customer. The almost identical Volkswagen Vento competes with the Rapid too but the Skoda offering appeals more to the enthusiast customer.
Skoda also sells an Edition-X of the Rapid which was previously called the Monte Carlo edition. This variant is better equipped than the normal car and comes with a blacked out roof on both the red and white colours that are on offer. More features include a touchscreen with Apple Carplay, Android Auto and dual tone alloy wheels.
Skoda Rapid Might Come In An All New Avatar By 2020
There have been reports that Volkswagen Group has invested 7,800 Crores for production of six cars in India. Three of these cars will come by the Czech manufacturer and one of them will most definitely be the new Skoda Rapid. There have been rumours of the Skoda Fabia making a comeback too along with Skoda Karoq which will challenge the Jeep Compass and Hyundai Tucson. The Skoda Rapid accounts for a huge part of the total sales by the company in India and therefore is their most important product.
