Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has completed the online registration process for its Combined Graduate Level (CGL) exam, which is held every year for graduates and witnesses huge response from government job aspirants. SSC CGL 2017 is one of the much-awaited examinations of the year.

The SSC CGL examination is held all across India at various centres under the respective regional offices of the Commission and every year a large number of candidates register for the exam.
This year, the Commission has added 7 new exam cities to the list. It’s a good news for candidates of these regions, as now they have a chance to appear for SSC CGL 2017 from their own place. Though exactly not ascertained, increased number of applicants every year might be the main reason behind this move of the Commission.
The 7 new cities for SSC CGL 2017 Exam
- Berhampore (Odisha)
- Bharatpur (Rajasthan)
- Nizamabad (Telangana)
- Warangal (Telangana)
- Vijaywada (Andhra Pradesh)
- Ahmednagar and
- Alibaug (both in Maharashtra)
It has been noticed that registered candidates often opt out for appearing in the exam due to distant exam city. SSC has not only encouraged government job aspirants by inclusion of these new exam cities but also give them a chance to appearing in the Tier 1 exam of one of the prestigious examinations of the country.
SSC CGL 2017, Tier-I exam will be conducted from 1st August 2017 to 20th August 2017. Tier-II exam of SSC CGL 2017 is due on 10th and 11th November 2017.
SSC CGL Vacancy
According to the notification, a total of 4733 vacancies to be filled by SSC CGL 2017 exam. For the SSC CGL exam, approximately 14 lakhs candidates appear every year. The SSC CGL Exam 2016 had an initial count of 4500 to 5000 vacancies. However, the number of vacancies was increased to 9000 later. The number of vacancies as declared by Staff Service Commission of India is 4733 for CLG 2017 exam, given a slew of hiring in Income Tax Department and the Excise Department of India.
