SSC CGL 2017 | Over 30 Lac Students Apply For The Exam & Here’re Some Important Guidelines

SSC, The Staff Selection Commission of India has received applications of more than 30 lac candidates for the Combined Graduate Level, (SSC CGL 2017) Exam. The SSC commission is in awe to receive the CGL exam applications in such high numbers this year. The number of candidates have been increasing year by year for the SSC CGL exams but this year has come out to be extraordinary.

The SSC CGL 2017 exams will be held from August 1 in four stages apparently. The Registration date for the exams has been ended by the Commission right now after being extended uptill June 19th.

SSC CGL 2017 EXAMS: Guidelines

The Staff Selection Commission of India a.k.a SSC has issued a set of guidelines for the SSC CGL 2017 examinations that will start from August 1. The Commission has stated that the exams will be organized in four stages namely- Tier-1, Tier-2, Tier-3 and Tier-4. The Tier 1 and Tier-2 Objective Multiple Choice papers would be computer generated completely.

The Tier-1 exams of SSC CGL 2017 will commence on August 1 and will carry on till August 20

  • It will comprise of 25 questions that will hold 50 marks each
  • Under the following categories:
  • General intelligence
  • Reasoning
  • General Awareness
  • English comprehension
  • Quantitative aptitude
  • The maximum passing score is 200 marks
  • And 0.5 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer

The SSC CGL 2017, Tier-2 exams are scheduled from 10th to 11th November

The Tier-3 exam will be on 21st January 2018

  • Tier-3 would be a Descriptive Paper in English/Hindi
  • That will be of 100 marks and its duration will be 60 minutes.

The Tier-4 exam of SSC CGL 2017 will be held in February 2018

  • This will be Skill Test/Computer ProficiencyTest

SSC CGL 2017: Vacancy & Recruitment

The SSC has notified earlier in 2017 that it has to fill almost 4733 vacant posts through the SSC CGL 2017 Exams. The Staff Service Commission has declared that most of the hiring would be done in the Department of Income Tax and the Excise and Custom Departments of India. In total the SSC has almost 9000 vacancies. Apart from the given departments, the SSC through CGL exams offers recruitment in several government services like:

  •  Ministries/Departments of GoI
  • Central Bureau of Narcotics & CBI
  • Directorate of Enforcement, Department of Revenue
  • Auditor offices of C&AG, CGA, CGDA
  • Accounts Department
  • Tax Assistant in CBEC & CBCT
  • Registrar General of India
