A Punjab Police Cop and His Friends Arrested for Stalking a Woman in Chandigarh

Another stalking case in Chandigarh has alarmed the authorities when it comes to women security in the city beautiful. According to a recent survey, Chandigarh is one of the unsafe cities in the country. Crime against women is on a rise in the city but since the Varnika Kundu stalking case, women have become more vigilant against such crimes and do not hesitate in reporting the same.

Another stalking case in Chandigarh that was reported yesterday has again put a question mark on women safety. At the same time, it has further strengthened residents’ trust in the Chandigarh Police as the accused have been arrested by the police.

Accused arrested for stalking a woman in Chandigarh, Shamefully, one is a cop!

According to the report, the Chandigarh police have arrested three persons for stalking a woman. The accused have been identified Jaskaran Singh, Gurdas Singh and Karamveer Singh. All the accused are in their twenties. What stunned the department was the revelation of the fact that one of the accused, 27-year-old Jaskaran Singh is a cop and is currently working as a constable with the Punjab Police.

The Chandigarh Police have arrested the Punjab police constable and his friends on charges of stalking and attempting to kidnap. The Mohali-based victim lodged a complaint with the Chandigarh Police and informed the police that three persons in a Innova are following her and even trying to block her way.

Accused tried to flee but were intercepted and caught by the Chandigarh Police

The victim works in a private firm and was on her way back to her home when the accused started following her around 1 am at night.  The police have stated that the trio was found in a drunken condition. They not only followed the victim but also attempted to open her car forcibly. The terrified victim who works at a private firm in sector 35, Chandigarh, immediately called police helpline number. It has been reported that when the accused saw the victim talking to someone over her phone, they attempted to flee from the spot, but the Chandigarh Police intercepted the vehicle and arrested the accused.

The three accused, including the Punjab Police constable, were nabbed by the police and booked under several sections. The accused have been booked under section 341, 354 –D and 365 of the IPC.
