State Bank of India to Hire 10,300 New Employees in Year 2018 | Report

State Bank of India (SBI) will be recruiting around 10,300 employees in the year 2018. Here comes the great news for the job seekers in Banking field, as SBI announce the major hiring for the year 2018. Public Sector Bank, SBI has announced the recruitment for as much as 10,000+ employees in the Fiscal year 2018, as there has been a reduction of employees at the bank.

With the increase of digitization & retirement, State Bank of India has been facing problems and to tackle those, the bank has now planned to hire more employees before 2019. Check out the detailed vacancies in which SBI will be recruiting the number of employees for the year 2018.

State Bank of India (SBI) to hire 10,300 employees by 2018

State Bank of India as of now have been replacing 75% of the retirement employees number with new hiring. An official of SBI announced that there will be hiring of almost 2000 probationary officers (PO) & 8300 Clerical Staff in the Financial year 2018. Although almost 1100 of these posts in SBI will be reserved for special categories like SC/ST & PWD candidates in the year 2018.

State Bank of India recently revealed in a report of January to March 2018 that it has been going through losses of approx Rs. 7,718 crore. It has been the second highest loss that has been witnessed in the banking sector. Although SBI also measured the decline in the number of employees at the March end 2018 to 2,64,041 as at the beginning of the financial year it was around 2,79,803.

SBI has been fighting through the continuous drop in the employees’ ratio & most of them has been due to retirement. Almost 12,000 employees got retired & 3500+ employees opted for VRS (voluntary retirement scheme) before the merger of its 5 associates in the year 2017 including State Bank of Patiala & more.

In between April 2017 & March 2018, almost 18,973 employees retired from SBI, whereas only 3211 new employees joined. And this has also reduced the employee’s cost of SBI has been cut to Rs, 35,411 crores in the Fiscal Year 2018, which was around Rs. 35,691 crores in the financial year 2017.
