Post Sunil Grover’s exit from The Kapil Sharma Show, it was recently reported that the ace comedian, Sunil Grover, has doubled his episode appearance fee. Sunil Grover had left The Kapil Sharma Show post an altercation between Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover. It was reported that Kapil Sharma had physically assaulted Sunil Grover besides verbally abusing him while returning from Australia after a stage show.
Kapil Sharma & Sunil Grover’s Association
Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover had been friends for years. The two have worked together in Comedy Nights With Kapil before the show was shut by the channel. Before the ugly spat between Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover, the Kapil-Sunil duo along with other artists had been working together in The Kapil Sharma Show which is aired on Sony TV. Though Sunil Grover had left the association when he had quit the show once to start his own show – Mad in India.
Sunil Grover’s Popularity
Sunil Grover had appeared in numerous films and TV serials but shot to fame by enacting the character ‘Gutthi’ in Comedy Nights With Kapil on Colors TV. After Comedy Nights With Kapil was discontinued on Colors TV, Sunil Grover appeared as ‘Rinku Bhabhi’ and ‘Dr Mashoor Gulati’ in The Kapil Sharma Show on Sony TV. It was the effort of the whole team including Kapil Sharma, Sunil Grover, Ali Asgar, Kiku Sharda, Chandan Prabhakar, Sumona Chakravarti as the main comedians that the new show was able to beat the earlier TRP and helped the show to a achieve tremendous success.
Reducing popularity of the show without the comedians
Hit comedian Sunil Grover who rose to fame while enacting ‘Gutthi’ in Comedy Nights with Kapil, landed in a mid-air scuffle with Kapil Sharma and walked out of The Kapil Sharma Show. Immediately after Sunil Grover, Chandan Prabhakar, Ali Asgar quit The Kapil Sharma Show the TRPs dwindled. In the dearth of finding a replacement for the ace comedians, show’s popularity started to decrease.

Kapil Sharma initiated several efforts to bring back Sunil Grover on the show, but all efforts feel futile. The audience, followers, and fans of the Sunil Grover frequently voiced about how they miss the gags and onscreen chemistry between Kapil Sharma, Sunil Grover and other actors.
Did Sunil Grover double his fee?
According to reports, Sunil Grover’s remuneration fee has gone up by 100 per cent. It was stated that Sunil Grover charged Rs. 7-8 lakh per episode earlier, but after quitting Kapil’s show he has now doubled the fee to approximate Rs. 13-14 lakh for a single appearance. Sunil Grover has some good offers in his hands but Grover is primarily focusing on stage shows and guest appearances. As per BARC reports, Kapil Sharma’s more than 100-Crore contract with Sony TV has not been renewed after April 2017. The show has plunged from Top 10 to number 14 position.
Sumona Chakravarti misses Sunil Grover
One the key members of The Kapil Sharma Show – Sumona Chakravarti recently stated that Sunil Grover is a talented actor and a great human being. Sumona Chakravarti played the role of Sunil Grover’s onscreen daughter Sarla. While enacting the father-daughter relationship as Sarla and Mashoor Gulati, Sumona Chakravarti shared screen space with Sunil Grover for the longest time and this is the reason why she shared a special bond with Sunil Grover and misses him a lot on the sets.
It has been reported that Sunil Grover will make guest appearance in a new comedy series titled Comedy Company. The 39-year-old comedian Sunil Grover had revealed earlier that he will not sign up one particular show permanently rather he would do live shows and make guest appearances.
