Chandigarh Gets a Think Tank Named Suvichar to Promote Good Thoughts For The City

Like many foreign cities, now Chandigarh too has a think tank. This newly created forum for the city has been named Suvichar. A synonym of good thoughts, Suvichar will work to give back to the society and help the city of Chandigarh as well as its surroundings grow and prosper on a global level. Prominent personalities of the city have come together to form this think tank which would provide thought leadership & give practical solutions to various problems of the city on a whole.

Issues on the micro and macro level would be taken up by Suvichaar members in association with citizens of the city, which would then be forwarded to the concerned government departments. Big wigs of the city and like-minded people from Chandigarh have come together to form Chandigarh’s think tank.

Suvichar Think Tank Members:

  • General VP Malik (Former Army Chief)
  • Vivek Atray (IAS Officer, Author and Advisor)
  • ML Sarin (Senior Advocate)
  • Neelam Mann Singh (Padmashri, Theatre Personality)
  • Prof Rajnish Wattas (Former Principal CCA)
  • VK Kapoor (IPS Retd.)
  • Vipin Pubby (Former Editor)
  • Ashok Tandon (Noted Industrialist)
  • Sameer Jain (Technology Entrepreneur)
  • Sameer Goel (e-Governance Expert)
  • Neena Singh (Former Banker/Social Activist)
  • Jyoti Kamal (Media Personality)
  • Dr ID Shukla (Former Principal)

As we all know that Chandigarh Capitol Complex has recently been listed as a world heritage site, Suvichar think tank has a roadmap where it wants an easy access to the site without compromising on the security measures in place. The forum wants to promote tourism in the city in a big way and will be working with citizens and government officials in this regard.

Mr Vivek Atray, Conveyor of Suvichar said that the forum will hold events and will engage with Chandigarh residents to know if they are facing any problems. The think tank would then discuss the idea and find out a practical solution to the problem. It would thus be forwarded to the government.

Government officials & politicians are busy with their own work in a defined sector and it is a bit hard for citizen to raise their issues. Suvichar think tank consists of members who have served the government and are in the know about the process and functionality of various departments. This Chandigarh based think tank would be on the forefront to make Chandigarh even better.

Target areas for Suvichar Think Tank in Chandigarh

  • Education Sector
  • Road Safety
  • Protecting the Heritage of Chandigarh
  • Promoting Tourism
  • Health Sector
  • And many more…

Cities in developed countries have similar think tank forums which work as a bridge between city residents and the government. We should be happy that Chandigarh too has got a think tank. The best part about Suvichar is that the forum has already started its work.
