Suzuki is all set to launch its new cruiser bike in India on the 7th of November. As per the report, Suzuki Motorcycle India (SMIPL) will be launching the new Cruiser motorcycle in the second week of November. The new product from Suzuki Motorcycle India will enter the pocket friendly cruiser motorcycle segment in the country on November 7 next week. Currently, the affordable cruiser motorcycle segment has motorcycles from Bajaj and Royal Enfield. At present, the segment is dominated by the presence of Royal Enfield Thunderbird bikes and the Bajaj’s Avenger.
Specifications of Suzuki’s new cruiser bike to be launched on November 7
It has been reported that the upcoming Cruiser motorcycle by Suzuki will be powered by company’s tried and tested 155cc, air-cooled engine. The petrol unit is currently being used to in Suzuki’s most successful models in India – the Suzuki Gixxer and Suzuki Gixxer SF. It is being speculated that the upcoming Cruiser motorcycle by Suzuki may get updated tuning for better performance of the Cruiser motorcycle. The enhanced tuning is expected to make the unit cruiser friendly.
The new Suzuki cruiser which is likely to get a 155cc engine, will directly rival Bajaj’s Avenger 150 Street. Bajaj’s Avenger Cruiser comes is priced around Rs 81,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Design of the upcoming Cruiser motorcycle by Suzuki
As per the report, if classic metal work is used in the Suzuki cruiser it will offer a relaxed performance in cruising. The cruiser by Suzuki is expected to be heavier than the lightweight Gixxer bikes and it the heavier cruiser model with classic metal work will offer a better cursing experience.
As per some of the reports, the new Suzuki Cruiser is expected to share design lines with the existing Suzuki GZ150 model. This model is currently on sale in some of the international markets. Some of the other reports suggest that the new Suzuki cruiser is likely to be an all-new model which may be inspired by its bigger sibling Suzuki Intruder cruiser.
If Suzuki launches the new Cruiser motorcycle at a competitive price, it surely is going to give a tough competition to the existing models in the affordable cruising segment.
Major challenge for Suzuki
Similar to the Suzuki Gixxer and Suzuki Gixxer SF that are inspired from their elder siblings from the GSX series the new cruiser motorcycle by Suzuki is expected to be inspired from its sibling – the Intruder Cruiser but as it will be based on the Gixxer’s platform, the company would need to bring in major alterations to fulfill the necessities of a cruiser motorcycle. The most prominent requirement of any cruiser is a lowered seat height that offers a more relaxed and comfortable riding posture.
