After Andhra Pardesh, New Delhi and Chandigarh being in news for swine flu, this time it is north Indian state of Haryana which seems to be under the grip of swine flu. After the news of a woman who died in Jind due to swine flu, 8 more cases of swine flu have come up at various places in Haryana.
How Haryana prepares to tackle Swine Flu
Haryana’s Additional Chief Secretary of Health, Ram Niwas urged people not to panic as the situation was under control. He called up a meeting of civil surgeons in various districts through video conferencing and asked them to prepare themselves to tackle swine flu. He said that isolated wards should be set up in each district and a helpline number should be started. The helpline number would help people get information about this deadly swine flu so that they are able to report the symptoms. Apart from helpline number and isolation wards, each district has also been told to have ventilators to save any patients suffering from swine flu in Haryana.
School students across Haryana will also be made aware about the symptoms of swine flu.
8 people have died in Andhra Pardesh, 3 in Delhi and 1 in Haryana. Reports of around 50 swine flu cases have come from India till now.
