Tata Motors New mid-size SUV to Rival Hyundai Creta and Renault Captur | Check Details of the New SUV From Tata

It has been reported that the automaker Tata Motors is all set to launch a new mid-size SUV in the country. Tata Motors is likely to unveil the new SUV by next year. Post-launch, the new mid-size SUV from the Tata stable will rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta and the newly launched Captur.

Though the company has not revealed any information about the upcoming new mid-size SUV yet, speculations are that Tata Motors might launch the new SUV with a starting price of under Rs 8 lakh to give a tough competition to the existing players in the segment.

Tata Motors to unveil new SUV next year

Tata Motors has recently launched its much-anticipated compact SUV – Tata Nexon. The car received a great response in the Indian market. While Tata’s newly launched compact SUV – the Tata Nexon has been launched at a starting price of Rs 5.85 lakh, its premium SUV the Hexa sits at a starting price of Rs 11.72 lakh. Tata is likely to place the new mid-size SUV between these two models from the Tata stable to offer an affordable yet premium SUV to the consumers. It is being speculated that Tata may launch the new mid-size SUV at a starting price of around Rs 8 lakh.

New mid-size SUV from Tata Motors to compete against Hyundai Creta and Renault Captur

It has been reported that Tata may position the all-new mid-size SUV opposite the highly successful Hyundai Creta and the newly launched Renault Captur. The report also mentions that Tata Motors is likely to position the all-new mid-size SUV between the entry level compact SUV – Tata Nexon and premium SUV the Tata Hexa.

As per the report, automaker Tata is already in the advanced stages of developing the mid-size SUV. It is further mentioned that the automaker is planning to launch the new SUV in 2018.

The promising mid-size SUV segment in the country 

The mid-size SUV segment in India, that sits just above the sub-4 meter compact SUV segment, is growing at a steady pace. With the Hyundai Creta leading the segment other competitors in the segment include Mahindra Scorpio, Renault Duster, newly launched Renault Captur, Nissan Terrano and Safari Storme from Tata’s stable. According to the report, the mid-size SUV segment collectively sees a sale of about 16,000-17,000 units.

The compact SUV segment too, which includes the SUV design vehicles that measure under 4 meter, has also seen tremendous growth in the recent past. The subcompact SUV segment includes segment leader Maruti Suzuki Brezza, newly launched Tata Nexon, newly unveiled Ford Ecosport facelift and two products from the Mahindra stable such as the TUV 300 and KUV 100.
