Tata Nexon has been one of the hottest launches in the Indian car market in the year 2017 and Tata wants to start the year 2018 with a good note too. Reports suggest that Tata will be launching the Automatic AMT variant of the car at the Auto Expo in Delhi. Though the car has garnered some rave reviews, it still faces tough competition from the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and the Ford Ecosport. All these cars are compact SUVs and are not serious off roaders at all, instead the people buying them are looking for better comfort and space along with a higher seating position for city use. Now when the Tata Nexon is set to launch with an AMT gearbox we expect the buyers of the Ford Ecosport Automatic to come its way.
Tata Nexon Automatic Will Be Offered On Petrol As Well As Diesel Engines
Tata has been very aggressive when it comes to offer its cars with AMT gearboxes and Nexon is no exception. From smaller cars like Nano and Tiago to Tigor and the Zest, most of the recent cars by the company come with an AMT transmission and now Tata Nexon is set to join the bandwagon. The automatic option on the Tata Motors compact SUV will help to lure in the urban buyer that is looking for ease of driving in the city.
The interesting piece of news though is that the Tata Nexon will come with an AMT gearbox o both the petrol and diesel variants. This makes it the only compact SUV in the Indian car market to do that since the Ford Ecopsport comes with an automatic option only on the petrol variant. The bestseller of the lot Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza comes only in diesel and carries only a manual gearbox. Tata Nexon Automatic option will be offered on the two top end trims, thus giving even more options for the customer to chose from.
Tata Nexon Automatic AMT: Launch and Price in India
Tata Motors will launch the Nexon at the Auto Expo in Delhi which is scheduled from 9th to 14th Feb, 2018. The Ford Ecosport Automatic starts at 9.5 Lakhs Rupees in India and Tata will try to undercut that price by a huge margin. Expect the Tata Nexon AMT to be pricier by up to 50,000 Rupees than the manual options of the XT and XZ variants.
