Tata Tiago XTA AMT (Automatic Version) Now Available at Rs. 4.79 Lakh Due to Price Cut

Tata Motors’s Tiago in the AMT guise has become more affordable. Tata Tiago that hit the Indian market this year in March has given a tough competition to the automatic variant of other competitors such as the Maruti Suzuki Celerio and even the Hyundai Grand i10 automatic. Initially, the Tata Tiago AMT launched in the XZA trim with a price tag of Rs. 5.39 lakh but Tata Motors have reduced the prices of the Tata Tiago making it even more affordable to the Indian consumers.

The new & affordable Tata Tiago Automatic

The Tata Tiago launched in the AMT guise in March this year, helped Tata Motors in giving a tough fight to the likes of the Hyundai Grand i10 automatic as well as the automatic Maruti Suzuki Celerio. Initially launched in the XZA trim, The Tata Tiago AMT has priced at Rs 5.39 lakh but Tata Motors has silently launched the Tata  Tiago AMT in the XTA trim making the Tata Tiago more affordable. This Tata Tiago XTA would include some of the cosmetic features such as the front fog lamps, ORVM mounted turn signals, alloy wheels, seat height adjuster, rear wiper with defogger, steering mounted controls, ABS and EBD.

Specifications of the Tata Tiago automatic

The gearbox for the new Tata Tiago automatic has been sourced from Magneti Marelli, which is already being used by the Tata Motors in the Tata Zest and the Tata Nano. Called as the EasyShift AMT, the automatic unit will now run three cars from the Tata stable. This  AMT unit will come paired with the 1.2 litre three-cylinder Revotron petrol motor. The engine will produce 84 bhp at 6000 rpm and 114 Nm of torque at 3500 rpm to power the new Tata Tiago AMT.

Equipped with four gear positions, the Tata Tiago Easy Shift AMT will offer Automatic, Neutral, Reverse and Manual gear positions. The Tata Tiago Easy Shift AMT also comes loaded with two different driving modes – Sports and City which are already there in the manual version. It was reported that the Tata Tiago AMT will come with an inbuilt creep feature. This feature will allow the car to crawl the moment the foot has been eased off the brake pedal. The function comes in handy especially on hill climbs when the car has to start from an inclined position. With the in-built creep feature function, there is no need to press the accelerator to crawl the car.

Tata Tiago’s Competitors

The Tata Tiago AMT primarily competes with the Maruti Suzuki Celerio AMT and the Wagon R AMT. In addition to the Celerio, the Tiago AMT also locks horns with the newly launched 2017 Hyundai Grand i10 automatic which is priced at a price over 5.50 Lakh and Maruti Suzuki Ignis AMT which carries a price tag of Rs 5.72 lakh. There are chances that the Tata Tiago might get some competition from the Renault Kwid 1.0 AMT which is priced at Rs 3.78 lakh per unit but is not in direct competition with the new Tata Tiago automatic.
