Tata Tigor Launches Affordable AMT Variant for Petrol Trims | Price Starts at 5.75 lakh

Tata Motors has recently launched the affordable AMT variant to its Tata Tigor model. The company silently added the automatic transmission variant to its popular Tigor car. Tata Tigor is one of the most selling models in Tata’s compact sedan line-up.

Tata Tigor Launches Affordable AMT Variant for Petrol Trims

AMT variant of the Tata Tigor that was recently launched by Tata Motors will offer more choice to the consumer in the current line-up. The new Tata Tigor will come mated to a five-speed AMT gearbox. It has been reported, that the five-speed automatic transmission gearbox will only be available in the petrol Revotron engine. The 1.2 litre petrol engine has been tuned to churn out 85hp and 114Nm of peak torque.

Tata’s Tigor is one of the most selling models in company’s compact sedan line-up and the recently launched AMT variant that is currently being offered at an affordable price of Rs 5.75 lakh has enhanced the overall sale of the Tata Tigor.

It has also been reported that the automatic transmission is only being offered in two higher-spec petrol trims of the Tata Tigor – the XTA and the XZA. While the XTA variant of Tata Tigor is priced at Rs 5.75 lakh, the higher end model Tata Tigor XZA will carry a price tag of Rs 6.22 lakh. Both the AMT variants of the Tata Tigor are priced about Rs 40,000 above the price of their respective manual transmission versions.

Specifications of these Tata Tigor XTA and XZA variants with automatic transmission

The XTA variant of the Tata Tigor will come with 14-inch steel wheels covered with wheel covers. The infotainment system will be connected to four speakers. The system is equipped with navigation and Bluetooth connectivity for smartphones. The XTA variant of the Tata Tigor will also get steering mounted audio controls, besides safety features such as ABS with EBD and will come loaded with rear parking sensors and two airbags as a standard fitment.

The top-spec XZA variant of the Tata Tigor also gets the same ConnectNext infotainment system as XTA model but the system comes fitted with four speakers and two tweeters. The top-spec Tata Tigor XZA variant gets 15-inch alloy wheels. Both the AMT models of the Tata Tigor get a Sport mode besides the Eco and City drive modes.

Competition in the segment

The Tata Tigor AMT rivals the likes of the Maruti Dzire petrol AMT, Ford Aspire automatic and Honda Amaze CVT in the very competitive compact sedan segment. Though the segment leader, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire AMT is the top seller in the segment but is one lakh costlier than the recently launched  Tata Tigor AMT variant.
