Due to the affordable price tag, Tata Tigor had been a popular choice among the Indian car buyers and the XM variant of the Tata Tigor, that has been launched by Tata Motors at a very affordable price in India, is poised to further strengthen the sales of the subcompact sedan.
Tata Tigor’s affordable XM variant
Tata Tigor made its market debut earlier this year in March. According to reports, one of the most popular subcompact sedans, the Tata Tigor, has now got a new XM variant to its existing line-up of variants. Tigor was launched in March with both petrol and diesel engine options. The subcompact sedan was launched in four variants-XE, XT, XZ, XZ (O) and the latest addition, the XM variant, will be positioned between the XE and XT trims of the Tata Tigor.
Powerful Tata Tigor XM
The XM variant of the Tata Tigor is powered by the same 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine and the 1.05-litre three-cylinder, Revotorq diesel unit, that runs the Tata Tigor. Both, the petrol, as well as the Diesel engine has been paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox and AMT (Automatic Manual Transmission) variant is not available in the XM variant.
While the petrol engine produces 84 hp of power and 114 Nm of torque, the Revotorq unit develops 70 hp and 140 Nm of peak torque. According to reports, the company has claimed that the petrol engine offers a fuel efficiency of 22 kmpl while the diesel variants delivers an ARAI rated fuel economy of 26 kmpl.
Nine important features in the Tata Tigor XM
The newly launched Tata Tigor XM variant sits above the base variant. The Tata Tigor XM gets numerous attractive features such as power windows at front and rear, manual central locking with key, follow me headlamps, full wheel covers, fabric seat upholstery et al. The Tata Tigor XM also gets Connectnext infotainment system by Harman which has been paired to 4 speakers and 4 tweeters for a complete musical environ. The infotainment system is also equipped with radio, USB, AUX, Bluetooth connectivity, iPad, as well as navigation features.
Colour option and price of the Tata Tigor XM
The XM variant of the Tata Tigor gets both the petrol as well as the diesel engine. The Petrol variant of the Tata Tigor XM is priced at Rs 4.99 lakh (ex-Delhi) whereas the diesel trim of the Tata Tigor will cost Rs 5.80 lakh (ex-Delhi).
The newly launched Tata Tigor XM variant will be available in attractive colour options such as Copper Dazzle, Pearlescent White, Espresso Brown, Platinum Silver, Berry Red and Striker Blue.
Tata Motors has launched three new Tata vehicles in the last one year. All the vehicles from the Tata Motors stable, including the Tata Tiago, Tata Tigor and Tata Hexa have largly contributed to the company sales. As per reports, sales of Tata Motors in August 2017, witnessed a 10.29 per cent increase in passenger vehicle segment.
