The Great Indian Laughter Challenge show that probably brought stand-up comedy to the silver screen for the first time years ago is set to return for its fifth season. The show will be hosted by Akshay Kumar and will air on Star Plus this time around. Before starting with The Great Indian Laughter Challenge as a judge, he also won the Comedy Central’s India’s Best Stand-Up Comedian Competition. The popularity of the Indore guy can be judged by the number of views he gets on his videos. Considered a humble and a down to earth person he has enjoyed the status of the most loved comedian among the millennials. His style of generating comedy out of sad relationship failures is quite unique and successfully helps to find the connection with the audience. Mallika Dua, another judge of the new season of The Great Indian Laughter Challenge rose to fame thanks to snapchat where her hilarious videos made us fall in love her. She was often seen as ‘makeup didi’ where she would often use a new filter from snapchat and explain it in explicit detail what it looked like. She was featured in the Irfan Khan starrer Hindi Medium and also was part of the main cast in a TV series called The Trip.
Akshya Kumar is not the only Bollywood face to be seen in The Great Indian Laughter Challenge. A fellow writer Husain Dalal will also feature in The Great Indian Laughter Challenge show. The writer turned actor and has written dialogues for movies like Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, Roy and 2 States.
