Tata Tiago And The Nexon Help Tata Motors Register A Growth Of 23%

Tata Motors have seen tremendous growth courtesy the cars like Nexon and Tiago

The Tata Nexon has been one of the hottest launches in the Indian car market off late and together with the compact hatchback Tiago has taken sales to a new high for Tata Motors. As reported earlier this week, Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors have seen tremendous growth in their sale numbers and we believe that might have to do with new car launches in 2017-2018.

The Tata Nexon and the Tata Tiago have garnered huge respect in the scene for their segment leading features and attractive price points.

Tata Motor’s Tiago Has Managed To Eat Into The Sales Of Smaller Cars Like The Alto

The Tata Nexon might be facing tough competition from the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and the Ford Ecosport but it is the Tiago that has limited challenge in the Indian car market. The compact hatchback buyer has options like the Alto, Eon and Kwid or could upgrade to cars like the Wagon R and the Celerio which come at a premium of at least 1.5 lakhs. The Tiago which is equally well priced like its elder sibling Tata Nexon, starts at 3.26 Lakh Rupees giving the buyer an option to move up a segment.

Similarly, the Tata Nexon which starts from 5.99 Lakh Rupees has been doing extremely well in the Compact SUV segment where it fights the Maruti Suzuki Vitrara Brezza and the Ford Ecosport. The best seller Vitara Brezza starts at 7.28 Lakh Rupees which is due to the absence of a petrol engine. This leaves room for the Tata Nexon to breathe and appeal to the buyer looking for a petrol compact SUV.

New Launches Helped Tata Motors Substantially

Tata Nexon along with the Tiago and the Hexa has helped Tata Motors sell 69,440 units last month as compared to the 51,309 units the same month last year. The total units sold by Tata between April 2017 and March 2018 is 1,87,321 units which is a growth of 22% over the previous year. With new launches like the Tata H5X and H7X along with the already present Nexon, we believe this number to increase even further the next financial year.
