Toyota Fortuner gets new Variant with Added Features

Toyota Fortuner has been one of the most selling SUVs in the Indian market and it has effectively retained its position in the segment. The automaker recently launched the special Diamond Edition of the Toyota Fortuner. With fresh interiors and styling features, this new variant is surely going to boost Toyota’s sales. Toyota Fortuner gets a new Diamond variant with added features

The newly introduced Diamond Edition of the Toyota Fortuner gets several visual upgrades on the interior as well as on the exterior. On the exterior, the Diamond edition Fortuner gets new alloy wheels, and on the inside, the cabin gets tan leather finished seats and an all-new audio system.

The newly designed 18-inch alloy wheels add to the side appearance of the Fortuner. The new special Diamond edition Fortuner also gets darkened chrome accents on the grille, black bumper guard with a faux skid plate, black upper grille guard with ‘SW4’ lettering. On the tailgate, the new Fortuner gets the special Diamond badge that differentiates the special edition version.

New tan leather upholstered seats add to the premium touch of the Toyota Fortuner Diamond and the bronze finish on the centre console further enhances the appeal. The audio system of the new Diamond variant has also been upgraded. The Diamond badged edition of the Fortuner now gets a 10-speaker JBL unit. The key fob of the new edition has been finished in white and gold.

Under the hood changes in the Fortuner special Diamond edition 

As far the mechanical setup of the Toyota Fortuner Diamond Edition, it gets the same 2.8-litre four-cylinder diesel engine. The motor is tuned to produce 174 bhp and 420 Nm of peak torque at 3400 rpm and 1400-2600 rpm respectively. The new edition gets both the manual as well as automatic transmission. The Fortuner gets both – a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed automatic gearbox which comes with upgraded torque.

India Launch and expected price 

The automaker has unveiled the new Fortuner Diamond Edition in Argentina and is priced at 1,223,700 Argentine Peso which translates to around Rs. 39.45 lakh. It has not been announced whether or not Toyota India will offer the Diamond edition of the Fortuner in India. Currently, the SUV competes against the likes of the Ford Endeavour, Volkswagen Tiguan, Isuzu MU-X and others.
