Toyota Unveils its Compact SUV 2018 – Toyota Rush | May Make its Way to India Soon

Toyota has unveiled its compact SUV Toyota Rush. Toyota Indonesia has launched the 2018 model of the Toyota Rush. The recently unveiled 2018 Toyota Rush gets host of updates. The compact SUV from Toyota comes with new features as well as equipment. The front facet of the Toyota Rush gets new grille coupled with four chrome slats. This outlook is much similar to the grille of the Innova Crysta.

In addition to the new grille, the 2018 Toyota Rush also gets revised headlamp clusters. These clusters are much similar to that of the rival Honda CR-V. The compact SUV gets redesigned front bumper. The bumper also gets rectangular housing for the fog lamps.

On the inside of the Toyota Rush, the compact SUV gets a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The infotainment system comes with smartphone compatibility as well as Bluetooth, USB, and AUX connectivity. The 2018 Toyota Rush gets refreshed upholstery which includes a two-tone colour scheme, start-stop button and keyless entry. The Rush comes with new 17-inch alloy wheels.

Under the hood and safety features of Toyota’s new compact SUV 

The 2018 Toyota Rush gets only the petrol variant option and comes with a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. The petrol unit churns out max power of 105 bhp and 140 Nm of peak torque. In terms of power terrain, the 1.5-litre engine comes with two gearbox options, a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic gearbox.

In terms of safety, the compact SUV gets ABS (anti-lock brakes) as well as EBD (electronic brake-force distribution). The 2018 Toyota Rush also gets stability control and hill-start assist options. The Rush gets Six airbags but it is being offered only in the top-spec model.

Toyota Rush Launch date in India and Competition

The Toyota Rush is reported to hit roads from January 2018 onwards. Initially, the   vehile will be launched in the Indonesian market. As of now, there has been no official announcement whether or not Toyota will launch the compact SUV Rush in India.

It is being speculated that currently, the company doesn’t have a product in the compact SUV segment in India hence there are chances that the automaker may introduce the 2018 Toyota Rush in India in a segment which is currently witnessing a boom. If launched in India, the Rush may rival the likes of Ford Ecosport facelift, Maruti Suzuki Breeza, Mahindra TUV 300 and Hyundai Creta.
