Chandigarh traffic police has collected around Rs 1.35 Crore from challans for different traffic violations in just first 5 months of 2017. As per a report published in The Tribune, Chandigarh Traffic Police has issued approx 34, 854 challans for various traffic-related offences. Taking strict action against frequent violators, the department has suspended the driving licences of as many as 3, 040 drivers till May 31.

Surprising though, the Traffic Police Department of Chandigarh has issued only 43 challans for under-age driving whereas a lot of youngsters are seen on the roads breaking traffic rules and risking their and other’s lives on road. License of 3, 040 drivers has been suspended for a duration of three months.
