TRAI forces Reliance Jio to Withdraw its Summer Surprise Offer & Here’s Why

Reliance Jio that has set trends in the telecom industry is now to withdraw its new summer surprise offer. Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has directed Reliance to take away with its summer surprise offer with the immediate effect. Following the direction of the TRAI, the company has agreed to withdraw summer surprise offer. A heart breaking news for all those who have not yet a member of Reliance Jio Prime because from now onwards, they will not be able to avail the free services offered by the company for extended 3 months.

All about the Jio Summer Surprise Offer

Jio has been the very first telecom company to introduce 4G in such a cheaper rates. In just one month Millions of users shifted from Welcome Ofer to Happy New Year offer to Jio Prime till 31st March 2017. But after that, the company has announced Summer Suprise offer which includes 15 days extension to be Jio Prime member and 3 months free services extended upto June.

It was first announced that the users have to pay Rs. 99 as a membership fee for the Jio prime offer till 31st March. And then continue free services customers have to recharge a minimum of Rs. 149 for 28 days every month. But on 31st March, the company announced its Summer Surprise Offer mentioning that now the users can buy membership of Jio Prime until 15th April and enjoy the free services without any recharge for another 3 months.

Highlights of the new decision

With an immediate effect on the decision of TRAI, Reliance Jio has discontinued the Summer Surprise Offer. From now onwards whosoever join the Jio Prime has to recharge a minimum of Rs. 149 every month to enjoy the calling and net services.

  • TRAI cancel the offer saying that it did not go with the regulatory framework.
  • Customers who have taken the Jio membership will not be affected.
  • New Jio Prime customers have to pay minimum Rs. 149 per month for the services.

Just after 5 months of its launching, the company have 100 million customers and till the month of march, it had retained 72 million customers as Jio Prime subscribers.

So no more free services from Reliance Jio. To enjoy the uninterrupted now you have to shell out. ‘Sukh bhaare din bete re bhaiya’.
