
A local train (EMU) accidentally rammed into Lokmanya Tilak Haridwar Express near Palwal railway station here in Haryana. The driver of the local train died while the assistant driver and the guard of Haridwar Express train have been injured. The impact of the accident was so severe that over 100 people are stated to have been injured in this Indian Railways train collision.

It is being said that the train accident occurred due to dense fog on railway track. The local train driver could not see the signal and hence rammed into Lokmanya Tilak Haridwar Express from the back side. Both the trains accidentally came on the same track. The accident occurred at 8:30 am. The EMU driver who was killed in the train collision has been identified as Yashpal and the guard of Haridwar Express has been identified as BB Gupta.
Over 15 trains on this route which were supposed to pass through Palwal in Haryana have been affected due to this EMU – Haridwar express accident. many trains have been sent on alternate routes till the track at Palwal is cleared. Officials of the Northern Railways have swung into action to clear the railway track at accident site and help those who have been injured. Relief vehicles and medicals teams were sent on the train accident spot immediately. Haryana Chief Minister – Manohar Lal khattar spoke to Palwal DC over the phone and has asked him to speed up the rescue work.
