Theatre art is again getting popular among people and Tagore Theatre is one such place in Chandigarh that often has some interesting event happening for the city residents. Taking forward the league, Tagore Theatre along with Department of Cultural Affairs, Chandigarh Administration is organising Tricity Theatre Festival during the last week of December, 2016. This 3-day Festival will showcase 3 different plays performed by various artists. From 27th December to 29th December daily one play will be performed by different theatre groups in the Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh. The details have been given below:

Time: 6:30 PM Onwards

Plays in Tricity Theatre Festival

Once again Tagore Theatre and Chandigarh administration are ready to showcase outstanding performances by various theatre groups. People of the city beautiful Chandigarh will get to see the mesmerising plays in this 3 day event named – “Tricity Theatre Festival”.

  • Thiru Nangaai (27th December)– On the opening day i.e 27th December of the Tricity Theatre Festival, artists of Alankar Theatre will be performing a hindi play titled as ‘Thiru Nangaai’.
  • Chukaenge Nahi (28th December)– Second day of the Tricity Theatre Festival will be in the name of ‘Chukaenge Nahi’ play that will be staged by Satvik Art Society. It is Hindi comedy play that is to showcase the problem of Italian people, where the rates of vegetables are so high.
  • Nati Binodini (29th December)– Tagore Theatre will also showcase the Punjabi play named as ‘Nati Binodini’, that will be acted by Suchetak Rangmanch on the last day of the Tricity Theatre Festival. The story of the play ‘Nati Binodini’ is based on the real life of Bengali artist Binodini.

Along with these top plays, the festival will also explore the new talented artists based in Tricity. Tricity Theatre festival 2016 is fully dedicated to the theatre groups and artists of Tricity area including Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali.

So Chandigarhian, it’s time to take a break from movie theatre and head towards Tagore Theatre to see the live theatre show to enjoy a world of reality with some live performances. Mark the dates. It’s from 27 to 29 December, 2016.
