It has been reported that TVS Motor, one of the leading scooter manufacturer in India, is soon going to launch Apache RTR 160 in the country. According to the report, the scooter-maker will be launching the next in the RTR lineup soon in India and it is likely to be based on the sidelines of the Apache RR 310 supersport motorcycle, that has been recently launched by the scooter maker. The new Apache RTR 160 street-fighter is likely to be launched in India next year.
TVS to launch all-new Apache RTR 160 in India soon
Scooter maker TVS Motor launched its most-anticipated motorcycle, the Apache RR 310 supersport bike recently which is reported to be company’s new flagship offering in the segment. In addition of being the first full faired offering from TVS Motors, with the Apache RR 310 supersport bike TVS also entered into the premium motorcycle segment in the country.
TVS will soon launch a new bike in the sporty commuter segment an as per the report, the next addition in the RTR series will be the new TVS Apache RTR 160 which is soon going to make an entry in the segment in India soon.
Specifications of the all-new Apache RTR 160
TVS has launched major bikes in the past two years – the Apache RTR 200 4V and the recently launched Apache RR 310. Despite latest editions in the segment, the entry-level bikes from the scooter manufacturer including the TVS Apache RTR 180 and the TVS Apache RTR 160 remained unchanged. The company though introduced new colour schemes as well as body graphics on the bike to add newness to the two-wheeler.
According to the report, the scooter manufacturer is likely to introduce an updated version of the TVS Apache RTR 160. The all-new TVS Apache RTR 160 had already been spied testing on the Indian roads and as per the spied images, the new TVS Apache RTR 160 borrows a lot of features from the Apache RTR 200 4V.
Engine and other features of the all-new Apache RTR 160
As per the spied images, the all-new TVS Apache RTR 160 appears carrying sharp bodywork along with an angular headlamp cluster. The new Apache RTR 160 appears to carry a new chassis besides a monoshock suspension setup that has been added to the rear of the new TVS Apache RTR 160, which is likely to be launched next year in India.
The engine specifications are likely to remain unchanged but it is being speculated that the new TVS Apache RTR 160 may be tune in to produce more power. Currently, the TVS Apache RTR 160 carries a 159.7 cc single-cylinder engine that churns out 15 bhp and 13.1 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes paired to a 5-speed gearbox. One of the changes in the new Apache RTR 160 would be the ABS which may be introduced to enhance the safety in the two-wheeler.
The all-new TVS Apache RTR 160 might rival the likes of the Bajaj Pulsar NS160, Honda CB Hornet 160R and the Suzuki Gixxer and is likely to be priced a little over the existing Apache RTR 160.
