TVS Wego Gets a Price Drop of Rs 2000 | Is It Better than Honda Activa?

If you are planning to buy an automatic scooter TVS Wego then this is the best time to do so. TVS Motors’ first-ever automatic scooter, Wego has dropped down its price in India to push its sales across the country just to compete with its rival Honda Activa 5G.

Reason behind TVS Wego price cut & its features

The reason behind cutting down the price of TVS Wego was to come at par with Honda Activa 5G and Maestro by Hero MotoCorp.  TVS Wego was launched in the Indian automobile market in the year 2009 with the feature of 110-cc but it could not match the success amongst its customers like its other model, Jupiter. This two-wheeler comes with the feature of four-stroke engine coupled with peak power of 8 Bhp at 7,500 rpm. Not only this, it is backed by 8.4 Nm of peak torque supported at 5,500 rpm.

TVS Wego houses a fully digital instrument cluster, external fuel filler cap, Power and Eco mode indicators for maximizing fuel efficiency. LED tail light and under seat mobile charger. CVT automatic gearbox supports the transmission in this two-wheeler.

Apart from this, TVS Wego scooter operates on telescopic front forks to cater the Indian roads with potholes with monoshock unit in the rear suspension.  Though the scooter is not as powerful as TVS Jupiter but is a great deal for those don’t want to spend much on an automatic scooter within the price bracket of Rs 50, 000 to Rs 53,000. TVS Wego model is sleek and attractive, that comes in two variants, including one equipped with the drum- brake and the other one is equipped with the disc- brakes.

The New price of TVS Wego

The price of TVS Wego is now slashed down to Rs. 50,165, ex-showroom price in Delhi for the drum-brake equipped variant and Rs 53, 083 for another disc-brake equipped variant. The price cut may not look significant but it is somewhat Rs 2000 less than to its competitor Activa 5G.

The manufacturers are hopeful that the price drop will surely help them in increasing their sales as it has been many years of its launch on the Indian roads and can now be a tried-and-tested pick for the customers in the automatic scooter segment.
