Punjab Government officials of GMADA have brought shame to their own self respect as well as to the organization GMADA where they were working for so many years by taking bribe of INR 35,000 from a local Mohali resident on Thursday. Earlier this month, a similar such incident of a traffic police official was reported who was caught red-handed taking bribe from defaulters instead of issuing a challan.
About the Incident at GMADA, Mohali
On the complaint of a local resident Nasib Singh Sandhu of Sector 66, Mohali who had seeked department’s No Objection Certificate (NOC) for his newly constructed house in Sector 78 of Mohali that Superintendent Narinderpal Singh and peon Karan Singh had asked for a bribe for issuing the same. Both the employees who are deputed in GMADA Estate office had asked for a bribe of INR 50,000 from Sandhu post which the deal got settled at INR 35,000.
Vigilance Cell in Action
On receiving the complaint, the Vigilance cell had swung into action and laid a trap onto which the GMADA Mohali officials fell prey to. Catching them red-handed on taking the bribe, Inspector Inderpal Singh of the Vigilance department nabbed the duo had no clue as to what exactly happened in a jiffy. Slamming corruption charges against the duo, Mohali vigilance cell has restored our faith in what they call as “Worth ethics” in a governmental organization by breaking the odds.
In an utter state of shock, the defaulters are now regretting their act which landed them into the trouble. Post the entire incident, they would be produced in court today to have a due course of legal action that would be taken against them to set a deterrant for others to follow.
So, make sure the next time a government official has this “under the table” attitude towards his lawful duty that fetches him his official wages, you reach out to the concerned authorities without any fear to get rid off such unscrupulous elements of society.
