These Upcoming Scooters Will Change the Scooter Segment in India in 2018 | Check out Price and Launch Details

Here is a list of upcoming scooters in India that are all set to revolutionize the scooter segment in 2018. The coming year is likely to bring in a good mix of new as well as facelift scooters in the Indian two-wheeler market that are worth waiting for. Here is the list of some of the upcoming scooters that are expected to be launched in India next year.

According to the report, India is the largest two-wheeler consumer in the world with its density increasing by the day. Two wheelers are an easy way for everyday commute, especially in cities. The present generation scooters, that offer sufficient storage space, in addition to great mileage, they are considered a more practical way of commuting.

In the list of two-wheeler, several scooter manufacturers will be launching new scooters in the segment next year with more power and feature. Here are some of the scooters that we can expect in the coming year.

Honda PCX 150

Honda PCX 150 from Honda Motorcycle and Scooter (HMSI) that was first showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo is likely to be launched in India next year. The 150 cc scooter has already been imported to India and is under development for the India-spec model. The Honda PCX 150 which is under R&D in India is expected to be launched in 2018.

The 150 cc, Honda PCX 150, that comes with single-cylinder, fuel-injected unit churns out 11 hp and 14 Nm of torque. It has been reported that the new two-wheeler from Honda might come equipped with LED turn indicators in addition to front and rear disc brakes for better safety. Honda PCX 150 will be a premium offering by Honda and is expected to be launched with a price tag around Rs. 90,000.

Hero Dare

Hero MotoCorp’s Dare will be a new offering in the country from the scooter manufacturer.  The brand new 125 cc scooter – Dare will most likely reach showrooms in India in 2018. Dare 125, the new two-wheeler from Hero will get a four-stroke, air cooled OHC engine that will churn out approximately 9.11 hp and 9.5 Nm of torque.

Similar to the Honda PCX 150, the new Hero Dare is also expected to get LED DRLs and as well as LED tail lamp. Hero Dare is also expected to come equipped with some attractive features such as fully digital instrument cluster, a dual-tone body colour, mobile charging socket, alloy wheels and telescopic forks. With such features, the Hero Dare is likely to be launched at an approximate price of Rs 60,000.

A new 125 or 150cc scooter from TVS 

Jupiter from TVS has been a successful model in the Indian market from one of the largest two-wheeler manufacturer in the country. It is one of the major opponents for the Honda Activa which is the segment leader and the best-sellers in the segment for long now.

According to the report, TVS is likely to introduce a new 125cc or 150cc scooter in India in 2018. The new two-wheeler was recently spied which looks similar to the TVS Graphite that was showcased at the Auto Expo in 2014 as a concept. The new two-wheeler may come with an existing 125cc or a brand new 150cc engine which may be tuned to produce more power.

Swish 125 from Suzuki

Showcased earlier this year at the Tokyo Motor Show, the new 2018 Suzuki Swish that gets 125cc engine may soon get launched in India. The new Suzuki Swish comes loaded with LED headlamps which sport LED DRL (day running lights) as well as LED tail lamp.

In addition to these two changes, the Suzuki Swish is also expected to get a fully-digital instrument console. For better comfort, the Swish comes equipped with a mono shock at the rear and telescopic forks up front for better suspension. The two-wheeler from TVS will get 10-inch alloy wheels and the similar external fuel filler cap. The new two-wheeler is likely to be priced about Rs. 55,000 in India.

Piaggio Aprilia SR Motard 125

Italy’s Piaggio Group launched its Aprilia SR Motard 150 crossover sport-scooter in India this year in February under the Aprilia brand. Now, Piaggio is planning to launch a new 125 cc scooter in India soon. The new scooter from the two-wheeler maker is likely to be based on the SR 150 which is currently on sale in India.

The new SR Motard 125 will share its powertrain with the 125 cc scooter from Vespa. Most likely the new 125 cc Aprilia SR will be powered air-cooled, 125cc single-cylinder unit which is expected to deliver about 8 hp of power and 11 Nm of torque. With new sporty styling and graphics the Aprilia SR 125 is likely to be priced about Rs 65,000.
