UPSC Civil Services Exam might revise the eligibility criteria set for the aspirants of the UPSC Civil Services Exam in terms of the age limit from the year 2018 on. All set to reduce the upper age limit of the candidates aspiring to take the UPSC Civil Services Examinations like UPSC IFS, IAS, IPS or ESE shall have to keep themselves updated about the recent developments & recommendations that the Commission is considering in its various recruitment exams like UPSC Civil Services Exams. UPSC Civil Services Exam Proposal For Age Limit Revision As Eligibility Criteria | Check Details 

The proposal to revise the eligibility criteria of the UPSC Civil Services Exams has been put forth by the expert committee framed from within the Commission itself along with the members of Ministry of Human Resource Department for the betterment & upgradation of the UPSC Civil Services Exam process. The Committee has put forth certain recommendations which includes amendments to be made in the eligibility criteria in terms of the age limit set by the authorities for various categories.

The age limit serves as one of the most important & pre-requisite eligibility criteria apart from the academic background which shall undergo revision as per the Commiittee’s report on reducing its upper limit which is 32 years right now for the Unreserved category with 5 years of extended relaxation to the candidates belonging to the reserved category.

The Committee has issued certain recommendations to the Union Public Service Commission as the conducting authority for the UPSC Civil Services Exams like IFS, IAS , IPS etc. which are conducted annually by the Commission in three stages of Preliminary, Mains and Interview rounds to select candidates for various departments under UPSC. The experts have already framed amended rules and strongly feel that the UPSC Civil Services Exam pattern along with the age limit criteria needs revision along with minute changes like reporting of discrepancies which has already been enforced by the Commission.

The recommendations including the one wherein upper age limit serving as the eligibility criteria for the UPSC Civil Services Exam shall be reduced is still under proposal stage getting considered by the Union Public Service Commission for their upcoming UPSC Civil Services Examinations in the year 2018.

The considerations have been going on since November last year with no fruitful results as of now. The Commission is taking a bit too long to decide as to UPSC Civil Services Exam age limit should be reduced or not. Till then, candidates are advised to keep their fingers crossed and a tab on the updates released by the Commission pertaining to the UPSC Civil Services Exams in near future.
